Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain and operate dental equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and infection prevention management.
- Document patient information accurately within Softdent.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and adherence to healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive dental care in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures.
- Proven experience working in dental clinics or healthcare environments with familiarity in dental office operations.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
- Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety protocols.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a professional demeanor and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of dental equipment operation, maintenance, and sterilization processes is essential.
