Job description
Star Industries located in North Fort Worth is seeking skilled MIG Welders to join our growing organization. We are a leading manufacturer of attachments for heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, cranes, and masonry equipment for the construction industry. In this position, you will fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. Looking to fill welder positions for 1st shift.
Job Responsibilities
· Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, and blueprints in preparation for welding
· Tack-weld pieces together
· Apply appropriate welding processes to join, fit, and assemble steel components
· Use portable grinder, cutting torch, and/or hand plasma torch when necessary
· Maintain proper equipment and repair when needed
· Visually inspect your work to ensure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with drawings and specifications
· Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions
· Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
· Produce templates and other work aids
· Support a Team approach and assist other welders in the completing of work to meet team goals
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Job Requirements
· High School Diploma
· Minimum of 2 years of experience MIG welding in Production Environment
· Familiar with iron work, plasma cutter, grinders, and torch
· Ability to read tape measure
· Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts 50 pounds
· Passed a welding test
· Pass a pre-employment drug-screen
· Able to work in a non-climate-controlled atmosphere
· MIG welder’s certification through the American Welding Society a plus
