American Traveler is hiring an experienced Acute Rehab RN for an inpatient hospital position requiring prior travel experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Acute inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes endocrine/metabolic and neurological conditions such as CVA
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
-
Required to work every other weekend and holiday

Meditech charting experience preferred
-
Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travelers

Travel pairs accepted with flexible scheduling required

Active RN license (IN or Compact) required

BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent acute rehab experience required

Previous travel experience required

Skills in blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
-
Experience with IV therapy and port care and management
-
Proficiency in fall risk assessment and prevention
-
Experience with pressure ulcer assessment and prevention and wound care
-
Feeding tube care and management and swallowing precaution experience

Foley catheter removal experience

Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge
-
Pain assessment and management skills

Patient teaching experience
-
One professional reference required from a direct supervisor within the last 12 months

Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute rehab patients including those with neurological and endocrine/metabolic conditions

Perform patient teaching and pain, fall risk, and pressure ulcer assessments as part of daily care
-
Manage wound care, feeding tubes, and catheter care for assigned patients
-
Past permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
