Position Summary
Jaxi Transportation, LLC d/b/a Premier Medical Transit is hiring reliable, professional, and service-focused Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Drivers in Plymouth, North Carolina.
This is a non-emergency medical transportation position. This is not ambulance service, and there are no lights, sirens, stretcher transports, or medical treatment involved.
Drivers will transport ambulatory passengers only, meaning clients who are able to walk on their own or with light assistance, such as with a cane or walker.
We are looking for dependable individuals who understand that this role is about more than driving. Our drivers help clients get to and from medical appointments safely, respectfully, and on time. Drivers must be patient, professional, and comfortable working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and clients who may need extra care and courtesy.
A company vehicle and gas card are provided for assigned routes.
CDL is not required.
Responsibilities
Safely transport ambulatory clients to and from scheduled non-emergency medical appointments
Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate service to every passenger
Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate
Communicate professionally with clients, families, facility staff, and dispatch
Follow assigned trip schedules and report any delays or issues
Use GPS, phone, tablet, or dispatch software for trip assignments
Keep the company vehicle clean, safe, and ready for use
Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies
Protect client privacy and confidential trip information
Report vehicle issues, incidents, complaints, or safety concerns immediately
Follow company procedures for attendance, documentation, and communication
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following:
Minimum age of 25
Valid U.S. driver’s license
Acceptable motor vehicle record for the previous 7 years
Must successfully complete background screening and drug testing
Prior professional driving experience preferred, such as medical transportation, delivery, shuttle, van, bus, or passenger transport
Previous NEMT experience helpful but not required
Strong customer service and communication skills
Dependable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working with seniors and individuals with mobility challenges
Able to follow instructions, schedules, and company policies
Must have reliable transportation to and from the Plymouth, NC reporting location
Must be fluent in English
Schedule
Part-time position
Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Monday through Friday
Typical operating hours are between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM
Routes and schedules may vary based on client appointments and business needs
Drivers report in Plymouth, NC
Compensation & Employment Details
W-2 employee position
Hourly pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience
Company vehicle provided for assigned routes
Gas card provided for assigned routes
Paid training provided
Employees receiving paid training are expected to remain with the company for at least one year
Part-time hours only at this time
