Wickersham Jewelry is looking for an organized, analytical, and proactive inventory manager & merchandiser to support inventory entry, merchandise planning, inventory performance, purchasing, vendor communication, and assortment needs across our three retail locations.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with both numbers and product. The ideal candidate is comfortable reviewing inventory reports, identifying sales trends, planning purchases, following up with vendors, and making sure each store has the right merchandise mix to support sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Merchandise Management
-Inventory entry
- Monitor inventory levels and merchandise performance across all locations.
- Reorder strong and fast-selling merchandise.
- Identify aged or slow-moving inventory and help develop plans to improve sell-through.
- Maintain appropriate stock balance between stores.
- Coordinate merchandise transfers between locations based on sales trends and store needs.
- Review incoming merchandise and inventory information for accuracy.
- Coordinate merchandise returns to vendors when needed.
- Track and reconcile merchandise.
- Monitor merchandise pricing and perform periodic price reviews.
- Review pricing on newly received product, particularly within categories that experience frequent market changes.
Buying & Assortment Planning
- Assist with merchandise budgets and buying plans.
- Utilize inventory reporting information to guide purchasing decisions.
- Prepare for vendor appointments and jewelry buying shows.
- Create and maintain buying-show planning tools and tick sheets.
- Review assortments and identify gaps within categories, collections, and price points.
- Finalize purchase orders following buying shows.
- Evaluate merchandise performance and use results to help guide future purchasing.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of merchandise mix, pricing, and inter-store transfers.
- Help ensure each location maintains a healthy, balanced assortment based on its individual needs.
Vendor & Special Order Coordination
-Oversee special orders
- Communicate with vendors regarding merchandise, orders, availability, returns, and inventory needs.
- Follow up on outstanding merchandise and purchasing issues.
- Coordinate receiving and processing of vendor orders.
Promotional & Seasonal Planning
- Identify special-priced, aged, or promotional merchandise that may benefit from additional exposure.
- Assist with merchandise planning for advertising and promotional campaigns.
- Coordinate merchandise selection and preparation for the annual holiday flyer.
- Determine merchandise needs and quantities prior to vendor appointments and buying shows.
- Work with vendors to help ensure promotional merchandise is available when needed.
Merchandising Support
- Maintain awareness of Wickersham merchandising standards and assortment presentation.
- Identify merchandise gaps or opportunities within collections and product groupings.
- Communicate merchandise needs or concerns to leadership and store teams.
- Assist with larger merchandising projects or store resets as needed.

- Ability to balance analytical thinking with an understanding of product and customer preferences.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Able to collaborate with store managers, sales associates, leadership, and outside vendors.
- Travel between Wickersham locations and attending buying shows is required.
Jewelry, retail buying, inventory management, merchandising, or purchasing experience is preferred, but we are also open to candidates with strong transferable experience in retail operations or inventory planning.
Typical schedule 9-5 Monday through Friday although this is salaried position and may require additional hours to complete the job at hand. Jewelry trade shows do require attendance (typically held over weekends) three to five times per year.
