Job Summary:
The Houseman provides support to the housekeeping team by cleaning public areas, delivering supplies, assisting with room setup, and responding to guest requests. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairways, restrooms, and other public areas.
- Restock housekeeping carts with linens, towels, and guest amenities.
- Deliver extra towels, pillows, blankets, and other guest requests.
- Remove trash and transport soiled linens to the laundry area.
- Assist room attendants with moving furniture and preparing guest rooms.
- Vacuum, mop, dust, and polish assigned areas.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department.
- Set up meeting rooms or special event areas when required.
- Follow hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Provide courteous and professional service to guests at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is an advantage.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
