Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing comprehensive physiotherapy treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions such as trigger point therapy to alleviate muscle tension and promote healing.
- Support patient care activities across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits.
- Conduct assessments of patient progress and modify treatment approaches under supervision to optimize recovery outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, discharge planning, and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments provided, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective discharge planning.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for understanding patient conditions and treatment protocols.
- Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
- Skilled in physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other manual therapies to enhance patient outcomes.
- Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and patients recovering from acute care episodes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
- Experience working with patients requiring specialized care such as geriatrics or pediatric populations.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions from hospital or rehab settings to home or community-based care.
