W*e are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to work on our school campus in Des Plaines, IL,* for the upcoming school year and the 2026-27 school year.

End Date: June 2027 (with the possible extension)
Schedule: 35-40 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid break included
Credential Required: PEL, LBS1
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with developmental delays.
- Adapt instructional materials and activities using curriculum development strategies and educational technology integration to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, parents, and other professionals to support student progress through team-based planning and intervention.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies, creating a safe and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid PEL, LBS1 required
- Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in middle school settings; experience with autism spectrum disorders support is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and classroom management techniques tailored for special education environments.
Pay: $40.00 - $52.00 per hour
