American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a General Surgery position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Trauma OR experience and an active NV RN license.

Work in an 18-OR General Surgery department at a Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile regional radius

Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics
-
Common procedures include trauma, neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, cranial procedures), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, orthopedic trauma, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT
-
Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 8:45 PM – 7:15 AM (nights)

No call requirements

Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Kronos used for time tracking

Active NV RN license required prior to start (RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may apply and must begin the application process upon offer)

Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required

CMP (Competency) completed within 1 year of start date required for Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting required

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Provides individualized, comprehensive nursing care across the full episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume OR environment with acuity comparable to a Level I Trauma Center

The facility is an 800-bed hospital with 80 ER beds and treats over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually

Minimum of 2 major holidays required

Blocked scheduling is not permitted

Any requested time off (RTO) must be noted at time of consideration; no additional time will be added to the end of the contract to compensate for RTO

Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract before returning, regardless of total time worked

All certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA)-issued
