Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive training plans tailored to student-athletes’ skill levels, emphasizing technical proficiency, strategic understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Lead practices, coordinate game strategies, and motivate players to perform at their best during competitions.
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among all team members.
- Collaborate with school staff to integrate athletic activities with academic priorities and ensure compliance with school policies.
- Manage team logistics including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing equipment maintenance.
- Promote positive behavior management strategies to support student-athletes’ social-emotional development both on and off the court.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and community members to build strong support networks for the team’s success.
Experience
- Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably at the high school level or higher, with a focus on volleyball or similar team sports.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds while fostering motivation and discipline.
- Knowledge of physical education principles, including techniques for teaching sports skills such as volleyball fundamentals and game tactics.
- Background in related activities such as cheerleading, basketball, climbing, martial arts (including karate or judo), swimming or other martial arts disciplines enhances coaching versatility.
- Experience in behavior management techniques that promote positive conduct and team cohesion.
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments is beneficial for designing conditioning programs.
- Prior childcare or teaching experience is advantageous for working with young athletes and supporting their overall development.
