Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support all outbound and inbound logistics within our manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role. The ideal candidate will take ownership of shipping, receiving, and inventory-related processes while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
This position requires hands-on experience preparing commercial invoices, customs documentation, and coordinating international shipments through carriers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, and freight providers.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Logistics:
- Prepare and pack orders accurately
- Manage domestic and international shipping
- Prepare commercial invoices and customs documentation
- Coordinate with carriers (FedEx, UPS, freight)
- Track shipments and resolve issues
International Shipping:
-Prepare commercial invoices, customs documentation, and other export/import paperwork required for international shipments.
-Coordinate international shipments through carriers such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, and freight providers, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
-Evaluate and select shipping carriers and service levels based on cost, transit time, service requirements, and customer needs.
-Compare carrier rates and shipping options to identify the most efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions
Receiving & Inventory:
- Receive and verify incoming materials
- Inspect shipments for accuracy
- Support cycle counts
Operations Support:
- Coordinate with production and procurement
- Resolve material flow issues
- Maintain clean workspace
Required Experience
- 3+ years in shipping/receiving
- Experience with packing and shipping
- Inventory handling experience
- Comfortable lifting and handling materials as needed
-International shipping and customs knowledge
-Hands-on experience preparing commercial invoices and customs documentation for international shipments.
-Experience using shipping software platforms such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, ShipStation, ShipRush, or similar systems.
-Experience selecting carriers, comparing shipping rates, and making transportation decisions for domestic and international shipments.
