Cashier / Merchandising Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier / Merchandising Associate to join our retail team. The primary responsibility of this position is providing outstanding customer service at the checkout while accurately processing transactions and creating a positive shopping experience for every customer. In addition to cashiering duties, team members will assist with stocking, merchandising, and maintaining of an organized and visually appealing sales floor.
The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with customers, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesCashiering & Customer Service (Primary Focus)
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and process customer transactions.
- Handle cash, credit card, debit card, EBT, and other payment methods responsibly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with purchases.
- Maintain awareness of promotions, specials, and store programs.
- Assist customers with locating products and making purchase decisions.
- Resolve minor customer concerns and refer more complex issues to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient checkout area.
- Follow all cash handling, balancing, and loss prevention procedures.
Merchandising & Stocking
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to ensure products are available and presented attractively.
- Face and organize merchandise to maintain store appearance standards.
- Build and maintain promotional and seasonal displays.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
- Assist with product rotation, date checks, and quality control procedures.
- Help unload, organize, and merchandise incoming freight as needed.
- Support product demonstrations, sampling events, and promotional activities when assigned.
General Store Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist with store cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Work collaboratively with team members and management to achieve store goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous cashiering, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience operating a POS system and handling cash accurately.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, professional, and dependable work ethic.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift, stock, and move merchandise as needed.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Grocery retail experience preferred but not required.
- Must be 18+ to cashier
- Must be available weekends and evenings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise consistent with store needs.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform stocking duties as required.

Pay: $15.55 - $16.50 per hour
