Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves creating an inclusive environment that fosters learning, independence, and personal growth. The Instructor will work closely with clients to develop their skills and enhance their quality of life through tailored programs and direct support.
Duties
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for clients based on their unique needs and abilities.
- Provide direct instruction in daily living activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals.
- Assist clients in developing social skills, communication abilities, and self-advocacy.
- Drive or take public transportation to various locations within the community to facilitate community integration.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive network for clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate parties.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Experience with working with those with developmental or physical disabilities or social work is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with disabilities.
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Ability to assist clients with daily living tasks while promoting independence.
- A compassionate approach toward caregiving, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle is required for transportation purposes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages growth and development.
- Must be willing to work with program participants in the following areas; Vallejo and American Canyon.
Potential candidate must be available to work 2-3 weekdays anytime between the hours of 9:30am-5:30pm.
