Poultry is looking to fill a Day Shift Maintenance Utility position. This position is expected to back up evening and night shift crew lead responsbilities as needed. This person would be responsible for maintaining, improving, and transporting equipment and vehicles in addition to performing upkeep on facilities for BJE Poultry. Below are the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Accomplishes preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on equipment to minimize down time
· Provides knowledge and support to co-workers
· Adheres to all safety policies and regulations in accordance with approved safety rules, including conducting safety inspections and providing training as needed
· Ensures a clean and safe work environment at all times including shop, storage area, and restroom
· Ensures upkeep on structures
· Removes snow from company grounds
· Responds to emergency calls at farms we service and other areas as needed
· Backfills for crew leads as needed
· Completes any and all reports in an organized and timely manner
· Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Electrical and carpentry skills.
· Hydraulic and mechanical knowledge.
· Competency with all basic hand tools
· Ability to follow directions and assignments.
· Ability to work in a fast pace and under pressure.
· Knowledge of OSHA standards.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
· Ability to lead, show professionalism, and to listen to and acknowledges the feelings, concerns, opinions, and ideas of others.
· Proficient with email and cellphone use.
· Willing to work in dirty, dusty, noisy environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
