Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing registers at shift end.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and meet revenue goals.
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Assist with inventory management through stock checks and participating in periodic stock replenishment efforts.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team.
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays efficiently.
- Knowledge of retail math concepts like calculating discounts, totals, and change accurately.
