Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Surgery Coordinator to support a busy orthopedic practice. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating surgical procedures, obtaining authorizations, and managing cases involving New Jersey and New York PIP (No-Fault) and Workers’ Compensation.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures with hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
- Obtain insurance authorizations and pre-certifications
- Manage NJ & NY PIP and Workers’ Compensation cases
- Ensure completion of pre-operative requirements (medical clearances, labs, imaging)
- Communicate with patients, providers, insurance carriers, and attorneys
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Coordinate post-operative follow-ups
- Work closely with billing department to ensure proper case processing
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Surgery Coordinator experience (Orthopedic preferred)
- Working knowledge of:
- NJ & NY No-Fault (PIP)
- NJ & NY Workers’ Compensation
- Basic understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Experience with EMR systems (Tebra, Kareo)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
