About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and curious Marketing Intern to join the 3STEPS4WARD team for a 3-month engagement. This is a fully remote position ideal for college students in the greater Los Angeles area who are eager to gain hands-on experience in marketing. You’ll work alongside our team on real projects — including supporting the production and promotion of our acclaimed Twist of Fate Podcast (TwistOfFatePodcast.com) and Twist of Fate Comics (TwistOfFateComics.com) — and build practical skills, and contribute meaningfully from day one.
The Twist of Fate Podcast is a small business podcast hosted by 3STEPS4WARD Founder & CEO Douglas Younger III. Each episode unites entrepreneurs, business leaders, and dreamers to share personal stories of inspiration, hardship, and success. The show is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Google Podcasts.
Twist of Fate Comics is a comic series founded by business leaders, entrepreneurs, writers, and artists. Each issue features a fictional entrepreneurial hero navigating failure and resilience in the pursuit of happiness, and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. Depending on the timing of their internship, this may include an opportunity to represent the brand at local events in the Los Angeles area, such as LA Comic Con.
Responsibilities
General Marketing
- Assist with the creation and scheduling of content for social media platforms
- Support the development of marketing campaigns, including research, copywriting, and asset coordination
- Conduct market and competitor research to help inform strategy
- Help track and report on campaign performance metrics and key analytics
- Contribute to email marketing efforts, including drafting and editing content
- Collaborate with team members on brainstorming sessions and creative projects
- Assist with any additional marketing tasks and special projects as needed
Twist of Fate Podcast
- Support the promotion of new and existing episodes across social media and other digital channels
- Assist with the creation of promotional assets such as graphics, audiograms, and episode summaries
- Help research and coordinate potential guest outreach
- Monitor and engage with the podcast community across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Patreon
- Assist with podcast production logistics and scheduling as needed
Twist of Fate Comics
- Assist with promoting the comic series across social media, email, and other digital channels
- Help create promotional content including graphics, copy, and campaign assets
- Support pre-order and launch campaign efforts
- Depending on internship timing, represent the brand at local Los Angeles events such as LA Comic Con, which may include in-person attendance
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university
- Preferred areas of study: Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Business, Journalism, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with good organizational habits
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Experience with tools such as Canva, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar platforms is a plus, but not required
Schedule & Commitment
This internship requires a commitment of 10 hours per week over a 3-month period. We offer a flexible schedule — interns are welcome to set their hours around their academic and personal commitments, with the expectation of reasonable availability for occasional team check-ins.

Compensation
This internship is a paid position. Compensation is set at $20/hour. At 10 hours per week over a 3-month period (approximately 13 weeks), the estimated total compensation is ~$2,600 per term.
