Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen area
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and portion control to ensure consistency
- Follow food safety protocols for handling, storage, and temperature control
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and service
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food industry safety standards and food handling procedures
- Strong knife skills with proper slicing techniques
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, and cleaning tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal presentation standards
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
