We are currently seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer with extensive experience in 5-axis and mill-turn machining to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, optimizing, and supporting complex machining operations for precision firearm components. This role requires deep technical expertise in 5-axis machining, mill-turn centers, and advanced CAM software.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and optimize CNC machines including 5-axis and mill-turn equipment
- Develop and modify programs using Mastercam
- Work with machines such as:
- Okuma mill-turn centers
- Matsuura MX-330 5-axis
- Eurotech mill-turn machines
- Haas machining centers
- Experience with Renishaw probing routines and Custom Macros
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and CAD models
- Select tooling, establish work holding, and determine optimal cutting strategies
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to ensure quality and efficiency
- Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience with 5-axis machining
- Strong mill-turn programming experience (Okuma, Eurotech preferred)
- Proficiency in Mastercam (required)
- Experience with Haas and Matsuura machines strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Ability to hold tight tolerances and produce high-end precision components
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the firearms or aerospace industry
- Experience with fixture design and process improvement
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
