Do you enjoy helping children thrive while making a family's evenings feel calm, organized, and less hectic?We're a warm, busy family in Pleasant Hill looking for a dependable Afternoon Family Assistant to help our afternoons and evenings run smoothly. We have two wonderful children (ages 4 and 8). One attends preschool, and the other attends elementary school.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with children and likes helping a busy household stay organized.
Schedule (Monday–Friday)
We're flexible!
- Afternoon shifts begin between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, depending on your availability and the kids extra curricular activities.
- The core afternoon routine typically finishes around 6:00 PM after school pick-ups, extracurricular activities, and dinner.
- We are hiring more than one person for this role, each position has guaranteed minimum hours, with flexibility and opportunity for growth and more hours.
- Additional hours may be available before pick ups starting as early as 1:00 PM, depending on your availability and our family's needs.
Whether you're looking for a 2-hour afternoon position or a longer 4 - 5 hour shift, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities - Afternoon Routine
- Safely pick up the children from school.
- Drive to extracurricular activities as needed.
- Unpack lunches and backpacks.
- Prepare dinner.
- Load and unload the dishwasher and laundry machines.
- Help guide the evening routine.
- Leave the kitchen and common living areas clean and ready for the next day.
Additional Afternoon Hours - Responsibilities May Include:
- Washing dishes and resetting the kitchen.
- Laundry (washing, folding, and putting away).
- Taking out the trash.
- Making Beds.
- Sanitizing kitchen counters and high-touch surfaces.
- General household tasks, organization, cleaning and tidying.
- Completing a simple daily household checklist.
This is not a deep-cleaning position. We're simply looking for an extra set of capable hands to help our busy household stay organized.
