Position Overview
The Community Engagement Coordinator will lead community-based outreach efforts across Riverside County to drive program awareness, facilitate member enrollment, and strengthen partnerships with local organizations and healthcare providers. This role is highly field-focused and requires consistent presence in the community, including attendance at events, partner sites, and outreach activations.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in building relationships across diverse populations. This individual will play a key role in educating the community on program eligibility, conducting on-site enrollments, and maintaining strong partner engagement to support long-term program success.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Event Sourcing
- Identify and secure opportunities for community events, health fairs, and outreach activations throughout Riverside County
- Coordinate and attend events to increase visibility and awareness of program services
- Develop relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs), clinics, and local stakeholders to expand outreach reach
On-Site Enrollment & Program Awareness
- Conduct on-site enrollments, inform on clinical document requirements
- Educate community members on program services, benefits, and eligibility requirements
- Ensure clear and accurate communication of program criteria to support appropriate referrals
Relationship Building & Retention
- Build and maintain ongoing relationships with referral partners, case managers, and community leaders
- Provide consistent follow-up and engagement to sustain partner relationships and referral activity
- Serve as a trusted resource for partners and community members
- Represent the organization in a professional manner at all outreach events and meetings
Data Accuracy & Program Compliance
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when completing enrollment documentation and tracking outreach activities
- Ensure compliance with program guidelines and eligibility requirements
- Report on outreach efforts, event outcomes, and enrollment metrics as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in community outreach, engagement, or event coordination
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, particularly in handling program eligibility and documentation
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively throughout Riverside County
Preferred:
- Experience as a Community Health Worker (CHW) or in a similar community-based role
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal, CalAIM, or community health programs
- Experience conducting on-site enrollment or intake processes
