Operations Crew for Will Rogers Memorial Center
Gendy Street Management Corp (GSMC) - This position is to support our Will Rogers Memorial Center operation.
Job Summary:
Gendy Street Management Corp (GSMC) is looking for an Operations Crew for the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC). This position is responsible for maintaining the facility during and between events, including housekeeping, event setup and teardown, day-to-day facility appearance, and special projects.
This position will be 100% on-site.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the facility, including flooring, chairs, tables, walls, staging, furnishings, and equipment, including equestrian and livestock equipment.
- Maintain barns, arenas, and stall areas at Will Rogers. Prepare stalls and spread shavings as needed.
- Assures proper routine cleanliness for all front of house and back of house spaces
- Set-up and break-down of all events including flooring, chairs, tables, walls, staging, furnishings and equipment including equestrian and livestock stalls and other related equipment.
- Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management
- Perform housekeeping duties including use of cleaning equipment machines, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
- Operate various large equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, Kubotas, tractors, golf carts, etc.
- Report discrepancies, safety concerns, or damage or loss of property promptly to Crew
- Prepare and monitor event spaces and room set-ups to accommodate event needs
- Inventory of building FF&E assets and janitorial supplies to ensure properly equipped for day-to-day functions and prepared for events
- Maintain organized storage areas assigned
- Maintain all event equipment
- Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing broken or damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment of property
- Implement and enforce Gendy Street Management policies and procedures
- Assist other departments including but not limited to Executive, Parking, Security, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Event, Sales, Marketing from time to time when necessary for the benefit of specific Events or overall Operation
- May be required to operate industrial vehicles such as carts, forklifts, and floor scrubbers
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred and/or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of experience in a manual labor position in public assembly facilities
- Any experience and/or training in the public assembly facility management industry is a plus
- Must have a Texas motor vehicle license
- Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to typical methods and techniques for conversions and maintaining the facility equipment, and proper use and care of hand and power tools
- Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive, and expedient manner, and be able to adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including – nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Working Conditions:
- Employees will work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. As business, maintenance, operations, or emergencies require, employees may sporadically assist in lift/move 100 lbs. or more.
- Employees will regularly work around animals typically found in a fair/4H/FFA environment (horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, dogs, etc.).
- Employees will regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting.
- Employees may spend some of their day working on a computer and other office devices.
- Employees will be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
- Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
- Employees may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations throughout the shift.
- Employees may be exposed to hazards associated with moving vehicles and require strict adherence to safety protocols.
