Whole Self Counseling is a therapy collective built by, for, and staffed by people of color. We are grounded in abolitionist values and decolonial healing practices that challenge oppressive systems and affirm the full humanity of our communities.
Duties
The therapist is responsible for providing services to clients in a telehealth setting. This includes counseling, education and support; treatment planning/treatment; case management; evaluations, referrals and more. The therapist will be responsible for the development of therapeutic interventions that are appropriate to client needs and goals as well as developing effective strategies to achieve them.
Detailed job duties include:
- Provide mental health support to clients in a telehealth setting
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients
- Create individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances
- Conduct ongoing assessments of client progress
Qualifications
- Must align with Whole Self Counseling’s values of trauma-informed, compassionate, sustainable (we are almost completely paperless!), client-centered, culturally-competent, non-shaming-or-judging mental health care
- Commitment to social justice and decolonization of therapy practice/access
- Adherence to a professional code of ethics
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field
- Must maintain a caseload of 25 clients
- Must be licensed by the NM licensure board as either an independent or non-independent practitioner (e.g., LMSW, LMHC, LAMFT, etc.)

Full-time position comes with benefits and the expectation you will see 25 billed clients a week. This is a W-2 position. Preference will be given to those living in rural areas in New Mexico. Only applicants living in New Mexico will be considered.
