Riad Tile is a fast-growing luxury tile company serving both residential consumers and trade professionals (designers, architects, contractors, and developers). As we build out a dedicated Inside Sales function, the Trade Account Manager is responsible for owning a defined book of trade accounts and territory, driving both relationship retention and active outbound conversion. This is a foundational role on a growing team, with direct visibility to leadership and real influence over how the Inside Sales function takes shape.
Role Overview
As a Trade Account Manager, you own a territory of trade accounts from first contact through close and beyond. You are the connective tissue between marketing-generated leads, client onboarding, and a closed order: qualifying inbound trade interest, proactively following up on open quotes, and managing renewal and repeat business within your book. You combine relationship management with disciplined pipeline follow-up, ensuring no quote goes stale and no account is left wondering what happens next.
Your ImpactAccount Ownership & Territory Management
- Own a defined territory of trade accounts (designers, architects, contractors, and developers), serving as their primary point of contact at Riad Tile.
- Build and maintain relationships with trade professionals to drive repeat business and account growth over time.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of account activity, quote stage, and follow-up commitments.
Quote Conversion & Pipeline Management
- Provide and proactively follow up on outstanding quotes within your territory, using a structured cadence rather than waiting on the customer to respond.
- Track every quote through defined stages (Sent, Followed Up, Awaiting Decision, Stalled, Closed Won, Closed Lost, etc.) and intervene before deals go cold.
- Convert non-committal client responses into specific next steps and timeframes, never ending a conversation on “we’ll be in touch.”
- Adjust follow-up spacing based on client signals, tightening cadence on active opportunities and extending it for clients who need more time.
Outbound Prospecting & Lead Conversion
- Respond to and qualify trade leads (campaign clicks, form fills, inquiries) and convert qualified interest into confirmed purchase intent.
- Conduct proactive outbound outreach within your territory to identify new project opportunities among existing and prospective trade accounts.
- Partner with Marketing to close the loop on lead handoff, ensuring qualified leads are worked promptly and outcomes are tracked.
New Business Development
- Identify and pursue net-new trade contacts within your territory; designers, architects, contractors, and developers not currently in Riad’s pipeline.
- Initiate outbound outreach to build relationships with prospective trade accounts, independent of marketing-generated leads.
- Track new business activity and outcomes (contacts opened, accounts onboarded, first orders placed) as a distinct measure of territory growth.
- Coordinate with Outside Sales and Showroom on territory and event-based prospecting to avoid duplicating outreach to the same contacts.
Operational Execution
- Manage the end-to-end order process for your accounts, from initial price and product inquiries through order placement and post-sale follow-up.
- Maintain clean, current data in Riad’s tracking tools, supporting accurate reporting on pipeline and territory performance.
- Collaborate with Showroom and Outside Sales on accounts and leads that cross territory or channel lines.
Product & Industry Expertise
- Develop deep working knowledge of Riad Tile’s product catalog, materials, and trade pricing structures to advise clients confidently.
- Stay current on tile industry trends and trade community needs to better serve your accounts and identify new opportunities.
Who You Are
- A relationship builder. You take ownership of your accounts and play the long game, not just the next transaction.
- A hunter as much as a farmer. You don’t wait for leads to land in your inbox; you go find the next account.
- A closer who follows through. You don’t let quotes go quiet; you have a system and you work it.
- Organized and detail oriented. You keep clean records and trust your pipeline because you maintain it.
- A clear communicator. You're comfortable managing the majority of your relationships by phone and email.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. This role and team are being built in real time; you bring structure to it rather than waiting for it to be handed to you.
- Collaborative. You work well across Showroom, Outside Sales, and Marketing, recognizing that the client experience spans all of them.
