QUESCO is seeking a high-energy, highly motivated bilingual Parts Specialist to join our team. We are a family-owned construction equipment business, open for 40 years with an outstanding reputation all over the Valley for honest and quality work. We are looking for a long-term partner, not just a cashier, to grow with us and build trust with our customers.
We operate on a strict "Performance over Tenure" philosophy. Your advancement is driven by your lookup accuracy, inventory control, and speed of service, moving you through defined proficiency phases rather than simply waiting for time to pass. Your value grows as you memorize our inventory, master the schematics, and prove your reliability to the team.
What You'll Do as a Parts Specialist, you are the crucial link between our customers, our service team, and our inventory. Your daily responsibilities are broken down into our core standards of excellence:
The Detective Standard (Lookup Accuracy)
- Flawless Verification: Never order a part without verifying the Machine Serial Number. Do not just take the customer's word for it; ask for the plate and use the schematic.
- First-Time Accuracy: Prevent downtime and double-freight charges by ensuring the right part is ordered the first time. Guessing costs us money.
The Warehouse Standard (Inventory Integrity)
- Count Ownership: Ensure the physical count strictly matches the computer count. Correct bin discrepancies immediately upon noticing them, rather than leaving it for "inventory day."
- Organized Operations: Maintain aisles, bins, and storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Receive, verify, and stock parts accurately against packing slips, invoices, and P.O.s.
The Revenue Standard (Lost Sales)
- Complete Solutions: Act as a salesperson, not just an order taker. If a customer buys a filter, offer the oil; if they buy a belt, check the tensioner. Ensure they have everything to do the job.
- Maximize Profitability: Increase ticket sizes to fund department growth and your own raises.
Daily Operations & Fulfillment
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure all parts are available for shop repair jobs.
- Shipping & Receiving: Prepare part orders for shipment to customers, resolve vendor shortages or damaged parts, and maintain accurate shipping and return records.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of parts counter experience is required for this position.
- Bilingual Communication: Fluent English and Spanish communication skills are required.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills for calculating inventory, pricing, and estimates/quotes.
- Impeccable Attendance: Punctuality is non-negotiable. The counter cannot run if you aren't here. Late arrivals leave the Service Department waiting and will freeze your career progression.
- Extreme Ownership: A commitment to never "blind order." Ordering without verifying serial numbers or availability is considered gambling and is a dealbreaker.
- Fitness for Duty: Strict adherence to our zero-tolerance substance policy, as you will be working in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment with heavy inventory and forklifts.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license is required.
