Your expertise will help ensure our projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. At least 1 year of Commercial HVAC Esimating experience is required.
Duties
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and identify material and labor requirements.
- Utilize estimating software to develop detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems in commercial projects.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals by calculating material costs, labor hours, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes while ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Manage project budgets by tracking costs throughout the estimating process, performing cost control analyses, and adjusting estimates as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams through negotiation and clear documentation to secure favorable terms and ensure project alignment.
- Review construction contracts and manage bid submissions in compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
- Collaborate on blueprint reading and construction drawing review to accurately estimate material quantities using Bluebeam or similar digital markup tools.
- Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously by organizing spreadsheets, estimating documents, and maintaining detailed records for future reference.
- Support the development of cost management strategies by analyzing material price fluctuations and market trends within the construction industry.
Skills
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital blueprint markup and estimation review.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction management software systems used for project planning and tracking.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints related to HVAC systems.
- Expertise in estimating material requirements from blueprints while considering installation methods and site conditions.
- Proven track record managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction sector.
- Deep understanding of cost control techniques for budgeting large-scale HVAC projects effectively.
- Construction site experience that enhances your ability to estimate accurately based on real-world conditions.
- Familiarity with contracts related to construction projects including scope of work, change orders, and scope adjustments.
