The University of Georgia Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) is seeking qualified applicants to fill the role of Cable Television Lead. This position will provide leadership and support for the University Cablevision (CATV) service as well as contribute to special projects for the Operations and Infrastructure team as necessary. This role serves as the primary technical lead for CATV projects, ensuring systems align with university standards and meet all applicable regulatory requirements. This role also oversees game-day telecommunications operations at Sanford Stadium, helping ensure reliable service and support during major university events.
The strongest candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of cable television systems, low-voltage cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure, including applicable industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Skill in designing, reviewing, and approving technical infrastructure plans; developing specifications; and overseeing contractor work to ensure quality, compliance, and successful project delivery
- Ability to lead and coordinate large-scale CATV and infrastructure projects, collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely completion
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, including providing real-time support in high-pressure environments such as game-day operations and critical events
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly, provide customer service, and develop user documentation to support system understanding and effective service delivery
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
