What you’ll be doing:
Under the direction of the Partner and Associate Veterinarias, in cooperation with the Veterinary Assistant and Client Support teams, you will coordinate and provide support for pet appointments and hospital admissions to include physical examinations, therapeutic procedures, diagnostics, and surgical / dental procedures. In addition, you will play a key role in ensuring our pet and pet parents have a five-star experience.

The nitty gritty (in case you want the specifics!):
- Provide safe but compassionate restraint of patients of various sizes and strengths for physical examinations, treatments, and procedures;
- Facilitate teaching and development of technical skills for veterinary assistants;
- Obtain patient vitals – recognize and communicate abnormalities to attending veterinarian;
- Interact with clients in person and via phone to obtain vital patient information;
- Provide client education and instruction in a positive, receptive manner;
- Calculate drug doses; Prepare and administer medication/vaccination/treatment via topical, oral, submucosal, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous routes as directed by the veterinarians;
- Obtain radiographs of patients utilizing appropriate positioning and safety techniques;
- Perform and interpret (as appropriate) diagnostic tests on blood, urine, cytology, and/or feces, or prepare samples for shipment to an outside laboratory;
- Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture with proficiency;
- Clean & sterilize instruments, equipment and other materials as instructed;
- Administer, induce, and monitor anesthesia as directed; identify and appropriately respond to abnormal or unhealthy responses to anesthesia; monitor anesthetic recovery as directed;
- Perform dental procedures, including prophylactic cleaning, polishing, dentition charting, and radiography as directed by the veterinarian ;
- Assist in surgical procedures, including patient preparation and recovery as directed by the veterinarian ;
- Help maintain the hospital in a clean and professional manner;
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the function of various clinical machines, including but not limited to centrifuges, microscopes, refractometers, pulse oximeters, ECGs, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose monitors, dopplers, capnographs, etc.;
