The Companion Sitter provides essential support and supervision to elderly, handicapped, or convalescing individuals in their homes. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and responding to medical emergencies when necessary. The sitter offers companionship to promote emotional well-being and helps maintain the individual's comfort and safety. The position requires a compassionate approach, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. The role also includes performing housekeeping tasks such as sanitation, changing linens, and trash removal. Ongoing training is essential to stay current with best practices in infection control, home safety, and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Housekeeping to include sanitation
- Infection Control

- Emptying trash
- Supervision and watchful oversight
- Complete 8 hours training annually
- Successfully complete training or demonstrate understanding and practical competency in the following areas: understanding the needs and characteristics of elderly, handicapped, or convalescing individual; meal preparation and serving; housekeeping to include sanitation; home safety; handling medical emergencies in the home; and infection control
Qualifications: Ability to read, write and follow instructions and completion of training or pass complete assessment appropriate for understanding needs of the population served, basic meal preparation, housekeeping, home safety, handling emergencies, and infection control.
Pay: $21.17 - $22.63 per hour
