Brothers Auto Care is looking for an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our growing team in Lubbock.
You will serve as the main connection between our customers and technicians—helping customers understand their vehicle’s needs, building accurate repair estimates, maintaining clear communication, and keeping work moving efficiently through the shop.
We service more than 20 vehicle brands and handle everything from routine maintenance and electrical diagnostics to brakes, suspension, A/C, engines, transmissions, and mobile repairs. This position requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, attention to detail, and the ingenuity to help solve unexpected problems in a fast-paced independent repair shop.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally and gather accurate information about their vehicle concerns.
- Create repair orders, estimates, and service recommendations.
- Clearly explain diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, pricing, warranties, and expected completion times.
- Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the repair process.
- Work closely with technicians to prioritize jobs, order parts, and keep vehicles moving through the shop.
- Review technician inspections and convert findings into clear repair recommendations.
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed.
- Schedule appointments and manage daily workflow.
- Coordinate towing, mobile service, financing, parts, and outside services when needed.
- Follow up with customers regarding declined repairs, future maintenance, and completed services.
- Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, estimate, and repair-order records.
- Help resolve customer concerns professionally and fairly.
- Assist with shop organization, invoicing, payments, and other front-office responsibilities.
- Use ingenuity and independent judgment when handling unusual repairs, scheduling conflicts, parts delays, or customer concerns.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive service-writing, service-advisor, repair-shop, dealership, or customer-service experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair and maintenance terminology.
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and respectful way.
- Experience creating estimates, selling repairs, and managing repair orders is preferred.
- Strong phone, computer, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain professional during difficult customer conversations.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram vehicles is strongly preferred.
- Experience with shop-management software, parts ordering, financing programs, warranties, or fleet accounts is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
