ABOUT THE ROLE
We are opening a high-quality senior care home in Napa, CA, and we are seeking compassionate, reliable Caregivers to provide exceptional day-to-day support for our residents. This role is central to ensuring residents feel safe, cared for, and respected in a warm, homelike environment.
Caregivers work under the direction of our Care Home Manager / Admin and contribute to a collaborative, resident-first team culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resident Care
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, and mobility support.
- Provide assistance with Instrumental ADLs, such as laundry, light housekeeping, and meal support.
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition or behavior to the Care Home Manager.
- Engage residents in conversation, companionship, and meaningful activities throughout the day.
- Promote resident dignity, independence, safety, and emotional well-being.
- Medication Support (as permitted by RCFE regulations)
- Assist with self-administration of medications as trained and allowed under CA licensing rules.
- Document medication assistance accurately and notify the Manager of any issues or concerns.
HOME ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for residents.
- Assist with meal prep, serving meals, and ensuring dietary guidelines are followed.
- Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions.
- Monitor and support residents during nighttime if working overnight shifts.
TEAM COLLABORATION
- Follow direction and care plans provided by the Care Home Manager (LVN).
- Participate in shift handoffs, reporting, and team communication.
- Support coverage when needed and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Attend scheduled training, staff meetings, and required continuing education.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, home care, or memory care preferred.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient, resident-centered care.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Must be able to lift/push 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professionalism at all times.
- Must be able to pass the facility’s training for medication assistance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must pass DOJ/FBI background checks.
TB test clearance.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
Willingness to complete all required training under RCFE regulations.
