Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Middle School Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and foster a love of science among students. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging lessons, develop curriculum, and support student growth in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in science education, classroom management, and student assessment to help students thrive academically and personally.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating instructional design and learning technology tools.
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials suitable for middle school learners, integrating literacy education and hands-on experiments.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track student progress, assign coursework, and communicate with students and parents effectively.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding, using assessment-driven instruction techniques.
- Manage classroom behavior through proactive conflict management strategies while creating an inclusive environment that supports students with disabilities or special needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, instructional strategies, and data analysis of student performance data to inform targeted interventions.
- Implement academic interventions within Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks to support diverse learner needs.
Experience
- Prior teaching experience in middle school science or related fields, with a strong emphasis on classroom management and student engagement.
- Experience developing curriculum that integrates math, literacy, and physical sciences for young learners.
- Knowledge of educational compliance regulations, assessment tools, and early childhood or elementary education principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Proficiency in using learning technology platforms such as LMS for instructional delivery and student assessment analysis.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.
