Job Summary
The Gentleman Cigar Lounge is seeking an experienced cigar-industry professional to join our team as Cigar Lounge Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of premium cigars, excellent customer-service skills, and previous experience working in a cigar lounge, tobacco store, or premium cigar retail environment.
Previous management or supervisory experience is an asset; however, we are willing to train the right cigar-industry candidate for a leadership and management role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cigar retail and lounge operations
- Welcome customers and provide knowledgeable, professional service
- Recommend premium cigars and accessories based on customer preferences
- Supervise, train, schedule, and support team members
- Handle opening and closing procedures
- Operate the POS system and complete cash reconciliation
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cigar and accessory ordering
- Monitor humidor temperature, humidity, cleanliness, organization, and product condition
- Restock products and maintain attractive retail displays
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and professional lounge environment
- Build relationships with customers and encourage repeat business
- Assist with cigar events, promotions, memberships, and customer-engagement activities
- Verify identification and comply with applicable tobacco-sale regulations
- Provide regular staffing, inventory, operational, and sales updates to ownership
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience working in the cigar industry
- Strong knowledge of premium cigars, accessories, and proper humidor care
- Excellent customer-service, communication, and sales skills
- Leadership potential and the ability to guide and motivate a team
- Honest, dependable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable handling cash, inventory, and POS systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for daily operations
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Previous management or supervisory experience is preferred but not required
- Comfortable working in an indoor environment where cigar smoking is permitted
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
