Job Summary
The Interoffice Clinical Medical Assistant provides clinical support to physicians and the Clinical Services Manager across multiple office locations. This role assists with patient care, examinations, procedures, and clinical operations while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and patient-centered care.
This position requires travel between OCUA clinic locations. Candidates must be willing and able to travel between Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Irvine, and Huntington Beach offices as needed. Reliable transportation is required.
Schedule & Locations
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; occasional overtime may be required.
Locations: Candidates must be willing and able to travel between the following office locations:
- Laguna Hills
- Mission Viejo
- Irvine
- Huntington Beach
Duties
- Obtain, verify, and document patient medical histories, health information, and clinical data.
- Perform patient intake, including vital signs, assessments, and collection of pertinent health information.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
- Provide basic patient care and assist physicians and healthcare providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed within the scope of practice.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, medications, test results, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and maintain clinical equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program or certification required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Prior clinical or outpatient medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic clinical procedures.
- Knowledge of healthcare documentation standards, infection prevention practices, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal medical instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between clinic locations as required.
