Bakers at Commonplace Coffee have the essential function of producing delicious, hearty, and creative food options for our retail shop guests and wholesale clients, using high-quality, regionally sourced ingredients. As a production kitchen and bakery, bakers will review orders and bake to meet requested volumes.
This position can be full-time or part-time with the potential to expand to full-time. This position is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Personal transportation is required to get to and from the work location. Cooking and baking experience in a commercial kitchen is highly preferred.

Prep ingredients needed for bakery items.

Follow recipes to prepare baked goods and ingredients needed for orders. This involves adjusting ingredient amounts to meet order volumes.

Monitor oven temperatures to ensure consistent product.

Organize and label items to prepare for assembly and delivery shifts.

Test and taste products regularly to maintain familiarity with products and quality standards. Tools include toothpicks, thermometers, and senses.

Carry weight, lift – must be able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

This job involves working both independently at times and closely with other individuals in an environment with limited space.
