We are hiring experienced and passionate Music Instructors to teach afterschool General Music classes in elementary schools in La Habra during 2026/27 school year. Knowledge of guitar, ukulele, or piano is preferred, but other instrumental experience is welcomed. The ideal candidate is a college student or recent graduate AND must be passionate to work with kids of all ages (5-10). Priority will be given to applicants with strong classroom management skills, passion for teaching, and willing to learn.
Classes meet on Thursdays. Class time is 60 minutes. We pay for TWO hours (2.50pm - 4.50 pm) to include prep, set up and clean up time.
- Minimum of 1-year teaching experience working with children of different ages. (required)
- Excellent classroom management skills (required)
- Ability to work independently (required)
- Be punctual and reliable (required)
- Be self-driven, with the right attitude, and desire to positively influence and support the students' emotional, physical, and mental development through music (required)
- Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, school staff, and teachers (required)
- Have a valid California Driver's License AND reliable transportation (required)
- Must be authorized to work in the US (required)
- Prior experience teaching group classes at afterschool programs, public schools, churches, non-profits, or summer camps (desired).
- Prior larger group (10-15 students) class experience (strongly desired)
- Bachelor's degree in music, or pursuing a degree, combined with teaching experience (desired)
- Must pass a background check (required)
