Keke's Breakfast Cafe is growing, and we're hiring Cooks, Dishwashers, and Bussers to join our team! We're a breakfast-and-lunch concept — no nights — closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. See the role details below.
General requirements for all positions:
- Must be available 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, including weekends and holidays (closed Thanksgiving & Christmas)
- Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours)
- Exceptional grooming habits
- First day of work, all employees must have dark blue or black pants/jeans with a black belt and black non-slip shoes (cooks/dishwashers may also wear black chef pants)
Cook — Part Time | $16.00–$18.00/hour
Accurately and efficiently cook and prepare food products, plus other duties in food and final plate preparation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of food items using flat top grills, stove top, waffle baker, Panini press, and fryer
- Take responsibility for the quality of products prepared and served
- Consistently follow our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures
- Stock and maintain sufficient food product levels at line stations for smooth service
- Maintain a clean, sanitary work station, including all cooking and refrigeration equipment
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
- Assist with food prep during off-peak periods as needed
- Open and close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist; assist others in closing
- Assist with routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
Qualifications:
- Able to work standing for up to 8 hours
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests
- Exceptional grooming habits
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
Dishwasher — Part Time | Up to $16.00/hour
Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Load, run, and unload the dish machine
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
- Keep the dish room clean and organized
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen
- Bag and haul trash to the dumpster
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
- Clean food preparation, production areas, and dish room as required
- Clean walls, floors, sinks, mops, and cooler floor daily
- Fill in as needed to ensure smooth, efficient operation, as directed by the manager
Qualifications:
- No previous restaurant experience required
- Physically able to lift, reach, bend, and stoop
- Able to work standing for up to 8 hours
- Able to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds, up to 30 times per shift
Busser — Part Time
Clear and clean tables as guests finish, and maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Remove used tableware as guests finish and clear tables after guests leave
- Take tableware to bus bins and sort silverware, dishes, and glassware for washing
- Between seatings, promptly clean table tops, chairs, and booths
- Check and clean floors, windows, and seat cracks as needed
- Inspect restrooms every 20 minutes and clean as needed
- Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate them to servers
- Coordinate with servers and host to ensure efficient seating and great service
- Assist servers with plate removal, especially with large parties and during peak periods
- Keep all front-of-house areas clean, including around trash cans and walkways
- Thank guests as they leave; fill in as needed for smooth operation

- Able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
