Position Overview
CASA of Berks County is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Associate Executive Director to join our leadership team. This role is designed as both an operational leadership position and a leadership development opportunity within our growing organization.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director will support key administrative, financial, and development functions while helping strengthen the organization’s capacity to serve children in the Berks County child welfare system.
This position is part of CASA’s long-term leadership sustainability plan and provides an opportunity for mentorship and professional growth with the potential to assume increasing leadership responsibilities over time.
About CASA of Berks County
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Berks County recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who advocate for children involved in the child welfare system. Our volunteers ensure that every child has a voice in court and that their best interests remain the priority as they navigate complex systems. CASA works closely with the courts, child welfare agencies, families, and community partners to ensure children achieve safe, permanent, and nurturing homes.
Key Responsibilities
The Associate Executive Director will work closely with the Executive Director to support organizational leadership and operations.
Responsibilities include:
Organizational Leadership

Assist the Executive Director in implementing organizational strategies and initiatives
- Monitor progress toward key organizational goals and objectives
Participate in leadership team discussions and strategic planning

Financial and Administrative Operations

Coordinate monthly financial documentation and assist with financial reporting
- Work with the organization’s accountant to track transactions and maintain accurate records
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial compliance
Ensure documentation meets funder and regulatory requirements

Development and Fundraising

Help coordinate and manage CASA’s fundraising initiatives
- Lead the planning and execution of two annual fundraising events
- Support donor stewardship and relationship-building efforts
Assist with grant reporting and funder communications

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, board members, and community partners
- Represent CASA at community events and meetings
Assist in presenting organizational updates to stakeholders and supporters

Special Projects and Organizational Development

Support special initiatives and strategic projects
- Assist with database management and organizational documentation
Contribute ideas and strategies to strengthen CASA’s long-term impact
