Lotus House Women's Shelter is looking for a Marketing and Event Manager to provide event, marketing and communications support to the organization. Reporting to the Community Outreach Director, this role will have a large focus on supporting the marketing needs of the organization such as managing the website, creating and executing a monthly newsletter, assisting with marketing and event materials (both print and online) and other marketing and communication needs. Though the position does require experience with design software (Adobe InDesign), mass email systems (Mailchimp), website platforms (WordPress) and all social media platforms, this position also requires a candidate with very strong writing skills and someone who can write compelling content. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the development, coordination, and updating of website content, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, presentations, donor communications, social media content, marketing materials, and other collateral supporting the Foundation’s mission, programs, fundraising, and public awareness efforts;
- Ensuring consistent, accurate, professional, and mission-aligned messaging across communications while providing communication of the Foundation’s impact;
- Implementing broad based community outreach, public awareness and financial sustainability campaigns and events benefitting Lotus House;
- Plan, coordinate, promote and execute fundraising and community engagement events, including galas, receptions, dinners, board events, donor cultivation gatherings, volunteer appreciation events, and other special initiatives including the management of event timelines, budgets, vendors, sponsorships, invitations, registration, logistics, volunteers, donor recognition, and post-event follow-ups;
- Managing the Foundation’s podcast and vodcast programs, including the coordination of video shoots, photo shoots, editing and managing episode releases via various platforms;
- Maintaining appropriate confidentiality and data integrity with all donor and Foundation records;
- Strategize, plan, solicit and execute fundraising initiatives on the individual, corporate and foundation levels, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, online and event fundraising.
Qualification and Requirements:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Website Development/Design, or a related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience in event planning, marketing, communications, design, or a related field.
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Creativity, initiative, and a strong attention to detail.
- The ability to build positive relationships with donors, community partners, vendors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
- A genuine passion for the mission of supporting women and children and strengthening our community.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel as well as gmail and Google docs and sheets some familiarity with EHR systems, high comfort level with data entry.
