Venerini Academy, a Catholic PreK–8 school in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a dedicated, and mission-driven Assistant Principal to join our administrative team beginning 2026–2027 school year.

The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal, faculty, staff, students, and families to advance the academic, spiritual, social, and operational goals of the Academy.

Position Responsibilities
The Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in the overall leadership and administration of the Academy, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Instructional Leadership
- Support the Principal in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s academic program.
- Collaborate with teachers to promote high-quality instruction, effective classroom management, differentiated instruction, and student engagement.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback and support to faculty members.
- Assist with curriculum development, assessment practices, instructional initiatives, and academic intervention programs.
- Support the effective use of student achievement data to inform instruction and school improvement.
- Promote collaboration and communication among faculty across grade levels and subject areas.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development for faculty and staff.
Student Life and Discipline
- Support the Principal in maintaining a safe, orderly, respectful, and welcoming school environment.
- Assist with student discipline and behavior management in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and families to address student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Monitor student attendance, punctuality, and compliance with school expectations.
- Supervise students and school activities as assigned.
- Serve as an administrative presence during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other school activities.
Faculty and Staff Support
- Serve as a resource and support to faculty and staff.
- Assist with faculty supervision, evaluation, mentoring, and professional growth.
- Help coordinate coverage for faculty absences and unexpected staffing needs.
- Promote a professional, collaborative, and respectful school culture.
- Assist the Principal with faculty meetings, professional development, and other administrative activities.
Family and Community Relations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the broader Venerini Academy community.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families regarding student academic, behavioral, and school-related matters.
- Assist with parent meetings, conferences, school events, and community activities.
- Represent the Academy in a professional manner and support its mission and Catholic identity.
School Operations and Administration
- Assist the Principal with the daily operation of the Academy.
- Participate in administrative meetings and school planning.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, school safety, and implementation of school safety procedures.
- Support the administration of standardized assessments and other school-wide testing.
- Assist with scheduling, supervision, school events, and other operational responsibilities.
- Assume the duties of the Principal in the Principal’s absence, as assigned.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the position as assigned by the Principal.
Catholic School Leadership
The Assistant Principal must understand and embrace the mission of Catholic education and demonstrate a commitment to the values, traditions, and educational philosophy of Venerini Academy.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Massachusetts teaching or educational leadership certification, or eligibility for appropriate Massachusetts licensure (or similiar)
- Significant successful classroom teaching and/or school leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and families.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to student achievement and a positive school culture.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Administrative or supervisory experience in a PreK–8 school setting.
- Experience in Catholic education.
- Experience with teacher supervision and evaluation.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and data-informed instruction.
- Experience with student discipline and family engagement.
