Position Overview: As a Budtender, you will be an essential part of our retail team, offering guidance with the customers’ needs in mind and providing top-notch customer service. Your role will include assisting customers with their cannabis product choices, educating them about our products as needed, and ensuring compliance with Illinois state cannabis regulations. This position is part-time (15-20 hours per week), with the opportunity for more hours based on performance and availability. Night and open weekend availability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by greeting customers, answering their questions, and helping them select the best products based on their needs and preferences.
- Product Knowledge: Stay knowledgeable about all product offerings, including cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and accessories. Provide clear explanations of product effects, usage, and safety.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales are compliant with Illinois state cannabis laws, including age verification and transaction recording.
- Sales Support: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process customer transactions, and ensure the proper handling of cash, or debit payments.
- Education & Community Engagement: Promote safe consumption practices and engage with the local community, sharing knowledge and advocating for responsible cannabis use.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with your team and store management to create a smooth and efficient retail operation.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the dispensary clean, organized, and welcoming for all customers.
Qualifications:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old, per Illinois state law.
- Background Check: All applicants must be able to pass a state-mandated background check as part of the hiring process.
- Retail Experience: Previous experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality is preferred. Experience with cannabis products is a plus but not required.
- Customer-Focused: A genuine passion for customer service and helping people find the right products.
- Availability: *Night and open weekend availability is required*
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and productive workplace.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow company policies, state regulations, and provide accurate information to customers.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Comfortable working in a retail environment with regular customer interaction.
