Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Wellness Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, a passion for whole body patient care, and the ability to work across diverse medical settings. As a Wellness Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver comprehensive health assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and promote wellness initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing patient outcomes through proactive health management, education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute illness treatment.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe medication administration and documentation.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, spinal taps, and dermal filler injections while maintaining sterile technique.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Manage complex cases involving muliple chronic diseases
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in family practice or a related specialty; DEA registration required for prescribing medications.
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (Level I/II trauma centers), nursing homes, outpatient clinics, or emergency rooms.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; experience with medical imaging or laboratory processing is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and healthcare diagnosis protocols.
- Hands-on experience performing procedures like suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, or sterile processing is preferred.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or PICU work enhances the ability to manage acute pain and complex patient needs effectively.
- Familiarity with Workers' Compensation law, case management practices, and utilization review processes is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient education and health coaching across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
