Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions and cash drawer management with precision.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product demos.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, attractive, and well-maintained.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of store products to offer informed recommendations and support retail math calculations.
- Support supervisory staff by supervising team members during shifts when needed and assisting with merchandising initiatives.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing cash drawers.
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently are essential.
- Previous supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team leadership responsibilities.
