Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for oral surgery procedures by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Assist the oral surgeon during surgeries by managing sterile fields, handling instruments, and monitoring patient vital signs throughout procedures.
- Administer medications including local anesthesia, sedation, or analgesics as prescribed, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients during recovery, assessing pain levels, managing acute pain, and providing post-operative instructions to ensure optimal healing.
- Document all patient interactions, surgical details, medication administrations, and vital signs accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex cases involving sedation, anesthesia support, or special needs such as patients with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements.
- Maintain strict infection control standards and sterilization procedures to uphold safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration.
- Proven experience working in medical offices or surgical settings; prior exposure to oral surgery is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, medication administration including IV infusion, establishment of IV access, suturing skills, and patient assessment.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with disabilities or special needs such as dementia or developmental delays.
- Critical care experience or ICU background is a plus; familiarity with sedation protocols and emergency response procedures is valued.

Pay: $31.00 - $45.00 per hour
