About The Cinnamon Barn: Established in 2021, The Cinnamon Barn is a premier wedding and event venue near McKinney in Princeton, TX. We are looking for a friendly, outgoing candidate who has the desire to partner with us.
Position Summary: The Cinnamon Barn is hiring for two positions, one that is primarily weekends and nights to lead our events and the other that is primarily weekdays to support our tours, rehearsals, and client tours with some occasional weekend evenings and night work.
Venue Assistant with a flexible start date. This position is hourly part-time, weekends, and evenings ($18-$24 an hour, Princeton, TX).
This position is physically demanding, including 10+ hour shifts on your feet at times, moving tables and chairs.
Our Venue Assistants are expected to work alongside the staff for the entirety of the event. A smaller portion of the work week is at a desk in the office doing paperwork and communicating with clients.
The candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent or higher and is at least 18 years of age. While the above-mentioned wedding and event industry experience is preferred, additional training will be provided.
Key Performance Objectives:
- Has a friendly, warm personality that exhibits a strong desire to form relationships and provide a positive experience for anyone who has interaction with The Cinnamon Barn.
- Attend Meetings with clients including final walk-throughs and support rehearsals during the week.
- Help with Client tours during the week.
- Manage the weddings and events on the calendar - taking the client from rehearsals, being the venue host during the wedding day, to completing of the event and all offboarding tasks
- Help set up for the event per assigned floor plans, (including move/setup of tables and chairs)
- Support and manage all client and vendor meetings and communication in a prompt and friendly manner
- Maintain the cleanliness of the venue at all times
- Execute successful and well-planned events, including social events, corporate events, and weddings, by providing clear planning and communication to all in-house staff, assistants, security, and cleaning crew, as well as other vendors brought in by the client
- Have strong critical thinking skills that can foresee potential problems and troubleshoot and handle issues with calm, clear direction and support of the vendor team
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal skills to understand and identify customer needs
Other Qualities and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Google Drive, Excel, and ability to quickly learn our CRM and other wedding and event-related software and platforms
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be able to frequently lift and carry object up to 40lbs
- Be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Has reliable and fast internet at home, for some opportunities to work from home
- Has reliable transportation
