MEDICAL ASSISTANT FOR SURGICAL DERMATOLOGY MOHS PRACTICE PART-TIME
Searching for a part-time reliable Medical/Surgical Assistant to join our Mohs surgery team. The hours will be Monday-Thursday 8:30am-1:00pm and Fridays 8:30am-12:30pm but hours are negotiable. They will provide assistance to the licensed physician in a clinical office setting. The candidate must have the ability to multi-task, fast learner and be detailed oriented. Surgical and Dermatology experience a plus. Offering a competitive salary for part-time and will depend on experience. We are looking to hire the right person to join our team. Great work setting and staff.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist patient in preparing for exam.
- Enter medical histories and prescriptions into EMR.
- Assist physician during procedure/surgery, using sterile technique.
- Educate patients and respond to patient questions in office/on phone as needed.
- Injections for local anesthesia.
- Document all medical instructions given to patients.
- Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
- Wound Care; including suture removal, and dressings.
- Triage patient calls and contact physician as required.
- Fulfill responsibilities as assigned by providers and management
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Surgical Scheduling
Experience:
- Medical assistant certificate
- Experience of 2-3 years in clinical setting required.
- Dermatology experience a plus
- Prior Mohs experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of general Mohs procedures, treatment, surgery, bandaging, suture removal, injections, clean and autoclave instruments.
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Knowledgeable of medical terms with CPT & ICD-10
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Demonstrate compassion and professionalism with patients and co-workers
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
- EclinicalWorks EMR knowledge preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time or part-time
Hours: Monday thru Thursday/ 8:30am-1:00pm Hours are negotiable but all MOHS surgeries are in am. only.
Pay: Salary is negotiable pending experience, training and hours
