About the Role
As a Manufacturing Process Technician, you will be at the forefront of optimizing production processes, ensuring top-notch product quality, and championing continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise in thermoforming and extrusion will be crucial in driving our team's success in safety, productivity, and operational excellence. You will utilize your knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles to troubleshoot and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with plant maintenance, automation, and tooling teams to resolve complex equipment and process issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Implement and refine programs aimed at enhancing product quality and boosting line efficiencies, contributing to overall operational effectiveness.
- Train operators at all levels on the correct operation of equipment, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Work closely with the Material & Shipping team to maintain material consumption within established standards, supporting efficient resource management.
- Contribute to changeovers, ensuring they are performed efficiently to minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Monitor production rates to ensure all products meet standard targets, proactively addressing any deviations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in plastics processing, specifically in forming and extrusion.
- Solid understanding of tooling, machining, and material flow practices related to extrusion and thermoforming.
- Proven experience working with manufacturing machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively train, communicate, and lead teams.
- Technical degree or certification (two or four year).
- Experience coordinating project teams.
- Familiarity with FEA (finite element analysis) and quality gauges to maintain high product standards.
