Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional nutritional care within nursing home settings. The ideal candidate will support the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, service, and sanitation to ensure residents receive nutritious and appealing meals. Duties
- Assist with food production, meal preparation, and plating according to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning dishes, utensils, and food prep surfaces
- Assist with bussing tables and removing used dishes promptly after meal service
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Support the dietary team in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and food safety protocols during food handling and service
- Assist with meal delivery or setup for special events or dietary needs as required
Skills
- Previous experience in nursing home or food industry environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, and serving techniques
- Familiarity with dietary department operations and food safety standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents or patients
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for meal preparation and dietary restrictions
- Experience with food handling, sanitation, cleaning, bussing, and kitchen safety practices
- Culinary experience or dietetics background is a plus but not required
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
