The Meigs County Department of Job and Family Services/Children Services Division is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Social Services Worker II position. Under general supervision, investigates appropriate referrals/reports/claims of abuse, neglect, or dependency of children and their families. Provides casework and case management services; Provides supportive services to children and their families; Evaluates the needs of children and their families; Conducts initial interviews with clients to devise treatment plans and determine need for alternative placement; Recommends appropriate action and testifies on behalf of children; and prepares and compiles documentation used in agency record-keeping and court hearings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in social work, human services or a closely related field of study is required, plus a valid driver’s license. An Associate Degree in a human service-related study will be accepted, as long as a Bachelor's Degree in the above fields are obtained within 5 years of hire.
