Position: Sign Painter
Seeking a qualified / experienced candidate to fill an immediate opening for a second shift sign painter. The primary responsibilities for this position are interpreting shop drawings, preparing, and mixing paints using the Matthews paint system. Candidates are expected to adhere to all OSHA safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting / fabrication.
- Ability to work from specifications, shop orders, drawings, and instructions.
- Work in a enclosed paint booth and mixing station.
- Know how to use various HVLP spray guns.
- Perform color matching to client specific colors.
- Document painting and mixing codes for every job.
- Follow approved processes for painting on numerous substrates / materials used in manufacturing signs (aluminum, acrylic, steel, wood, vinyl and pvc).
- Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of all equipment.
- Adhere to all required safety equipment and procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Some M/S knowledge.
Experience and Skills:
- Preferred sign painting experience, auto body experience is welcome.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Expert attention to detail.
- Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
- Ability to reliably commute to Mount Vernon, NY a must.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday; 4:00 pm to 12:30 am | Friday; 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Hourly rate starting at $16.00 commensurate with experience
